Luxe Styling on Wheels

As you know, I like to dress with thought to feel stylish when on the road… so who says living in a motorhome can’t feel luxurious too? Just because you’re traveling light doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. With a few thoughtful touches, your motorhome can feel less “temporary living” and more like a boutique hotel on wheels.

The secret? I love adding texture, lighting and intentional details. Here’s how I create a space that is practical, feels cozy and elevated too!

Your fastest upgrade is starting with textures

Texture instantly adds warmth and depth – and it’s one of the easiest ways to elevate a small space

Furry throws and blankets are a must. Drape them over seating areas or beds to soften clean lines and make the space feel most inviting. Faux fur, teddy or knitted fabrics, or wool-look throws and velvet soft finishings give that indulgent, snuggly feel without being impractical. You can easily throw them in the camp site laundry! I prefer to stick to neutral colour palette like creams, taupes, greys, and soft blacks, giving a calm, cohesive and luxury look.

The magic happens with lighting

Usually, the overhead lighting in a motorhome (or caravan) alone can feel harsh and clinical. To create a luxury atmosphere, I suggest layering your lighting. With warm fairy lights around shelves, windows and overhead storage, battery-operated LED candles for that soft flickering ambience or small rechargeable lamps for cosy evenings. You can transform your motorhome at night to suddenly feel calm, intimate and incredibly chic.

Create your signature scent

We’ve looked at two of our senses – touch and sight, but what about smell? Luxury spaces always smell beautiful, so choose a scent that makes your motorhome feel like home, with a touch of boutique hotel. I love reed diffusers, that I stick down with double-sided velcro stickies (for easy removal and top-ups). You can also have room sprays or essential oil rollers. My favourites for a luxe scent are amber, vanilla, sandalwood and fresh linen. With these, you’ll have a space that smells polished and intentional.

Add touches of elegant “occasion”

Luxury is about the little details. I find the simplest moments can feel even more special when they are styled with care. For a more “high-end” dinner experience, I like to pull out the table runner, lay on a small charcuterie board or serving plate and have a neutral tray for drinks, snacks or to set out my ambience-creating candles. And, who says champagne flutes need to by crystal? I have some beautiful acrylic glassware that’s practical but looks fab!

Luxury isn’t about the space, it’s about the styling

I don’t think you need a huge motorhome or an expensive refurb to create a luxury feel. If you focus on textures, lighting, softness and intentional styling, your motorhome can feel cosy, glamorous and totally you!

A long hot shower. My favourite skincare products that have earned their way into my tiny bathroom cabinet. Nature right outside the door. To get on my bike to explore more! And time to curl up with a good book. All in my small home on wheels that I’ve styled to feel warm, cosy, and quietly luxurious. […]
