Skincare products in a tiny bathroom of a motorhome

Skincare on the Road

When your bathroom is tiny, every product has to earn it’s place. Here’s how I keep my skin care and wellness essentials all super simple. These are some of my favourite products that I actually use while living on the road.

Face, Hand & Body Care: Lightweight But Luxe

Your face and hands are the parts of you that are always exposed, so give them a little extra love, without overpacking. Think a moisturiser that does more, and products that are super hydrating and travel-friendly.

The ELEMIS Pro-Collagen Marine Cream with SPF30, is an anti-wrinkle face moisturiser that is very hydrating but not heavy, so can be used both day and night. The addition of the SPF, ticks my non-negotionable suncreen application daily.

If you’re looking for a even more deeply soothing face cream with barrier repair, you’ll also love La Roche-Posay’s Cicaplast Baume B5+ Ultra Repairing Soothing Balm. I tend to reach for this after my evening cleanse to really treat my face if I’ve had a long walk and weatherbeaten skin or deeply hydrate my skin from motorhome central heating on these chilly winter days!

Ideal as it’s multi-use for hands, elbows, knees etc. Another reason this item earns it’s place in my motorhome.

Speaking of hands… the Defend and Protect Hand Cream by Neal’s Yard Remedies is a beautiful and hard working product in my on-the-road toiletries bag. It does have quite a strong scent which is a mix of lemongrass, niaouli and witch hazel which I really like, but if you prefer fragrance-free, this might not be for you. It is organic and does an excellent job of nourishing and protecting my hands.

Want more for overall body nourishment? I love to drench my body after a hot shower in my tiny shower with Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Body Lotion. I feel it works to soften any rough, dry skin with it’s rich blend of cocoa butter and vitamin E. Another product with a distinct smell, being cocoa butter, yummy!

Top Tip! If you can find travel mini’s of any of these products, grab them. Or I suggest decanting them into travel pots to maximise limited space in your bathroom on wheels.

Instead of cream, foaming or gel facial cleansers, I use facial cleansing wipes from Simple. They replace my need for cotton pads and separate eye makeup remover – space saver! Another minimalist facial cleanser I love that is small and powerful, are Grüum’s klår Purifying Facial Cleanser Bars. I have the Activated Charcoal bar with Lemongrass. It lasts ages too!

Don’t forget your oral hygiene. My Oral-B electric toothbrush has a handy travel case and long lasting battery life – ideal for minimal charges on the go. Paired with another product that is multi-use… is Marvis’ Whitening Mint flavour is plaque-removing and tooth-whitening. I’ve been using Marvis toothpaste’s for years, and enjoy many of their exciting flavours including Cinnamon Mint and Jasmine Mint.

Final suggestions that are eco-friendly and non-negotiable’s for me…

The Original Makeup Remover by Face Halo is fantastic as they are reusable, non-toxic, vegan and cruelty-free making them ethical and eco-friendly. They work super effectively to remove makeup quickly and easily using water alone – which means you can cancel out any cleansers or face wipes. I personally like to do a double-cleanse, which is why I recommend the other products above, but you may find this replace them all!

Even in the UK winter, I want to protect my skin from any UVA or UVB rays, and apply the Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 30 under my foundation. It’s weightless, scentless, primer that really is invisible! And works perfectly with my light daily makeup – I’ll share another post on this…

… but for now, I’d love to hear what are your favourite travel toiletries? Do you have a multi-use product that’s been a game changer on the road? Drop a comment below on your go-to picks.
